Our Story

Molinar Home Design specializes in residential architecture and values the relationships created during this collaborative process. Established in 2004, Founder and Principal Architect Mark Molinar built MHD after years of experience in residential architecture & construction, with the understanding that most homeowners have a dream of what their home should be. Under the focus of -Vision, Process, Reality-, MHD guides homeowners through the steps of the architectural design and permitting process to realize their dream home. Molinar Home Design and The BluePrint Shop are part of the Molinar Home Designs, Inc family. Check out our social media sites for customer reviews.

MHD has developed its 6-Step Design Process through years of practical experience and expertise to streamline bringing a client's vision closer to reality. When a potential client reaches out to us, we understand that architectural projects are significant commitments to undertake, with many important decisions to make along the way. Our Team works hard with clients' best interests in mind to carefully listen to our clients' goals, so they feel heard, comfortable, and understand how the design process works.

Avery (Summer Intern)

Front Desk Employee & Architectural Intern

Avery was with us during Summer of 2025 and is now back for another summer before starting her 5th and final year of Architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a minor in Landscape Architecture. After studying abroad in Berlin for a semester of her fourth year, she has grown very fond of the city and hopes to return eventually after graduation. Avery really enjoys art and design, but also has a passion for natural landscapes and exploring the outdoors. Once she graduates, she hopes to use her degree to integrate more ecological systems into the built environment around us, and support communities’ rights to fresh food while maintaining their own sense of identity.

Gigi (Summer Intern)

Front Desk Employee & Architectural Intern

Gigi is studying Architecture at the University of Arizona in Tucson and will begin her third year in the fall. Her roots are in the Bay Area, and she looks forward to settling down here after the five-year architecture program. She plans to use her education to expand architecture as a remedy for many issues the Bay Area faces, such as homelessness and poverty. Gigi has always been interested in drawing and design, which ultimately led her to pursue architecture as a career. In her free time, she enjoys many types of creative outlets like drawing and sewing, as well as reading and going on adventures with her dog. Come by the Blueprint Shop and say hi!
